Join the APB Subject Matter
Experts Resource Pool

The Appraisal Practices Board (APB) of The Appraisal Foundation publishes Valuation Advisories to help professionals gain deep insight and hone techniques in tackling some of today’s most pressing appraisal concerns. With additional topics emerging frequently and an expanding need for insight from the profession’s leading experts, the APB established the Subject Matter Expert Resource Pool as a source of experts to assist in developing guidance on complex valuation topics.

Under the direction of the APB, those chosen as subject matter experts will research recognized texts, journals, articles, educational offerings and other resources in order to provide voluntary guidance on emerging or complex issues. Subject matter experts are not compensated for their time but are recognized in all guidance issued by the APB, which are known as Valuation Advisories.

NOTE: The APB understands that as volunteers most SMEs have other obligations, including full-time employment; however, it is vitally important that if you are selected as a SME you are able to fulfill your obligations until completion of the project.  If you believe there are any circumstances under which your availability may be affected, you should reconsider service as a SME until such time you are certain your schedule will allow you to see a project through until completion.

If you are willing to share your expertise, be part of a broader conversation, and receive recognition for your contributions, please click on the link below to fill out the SME Application Form located here.

All appointed SMEs will be required to sign and adhere to the APB Subject Matter Expert Confidentiality Agreement prior to being appointed.  Please review the document located here to ensure you do not have a conflict prior to submitting your application.
